This is a nice-sized compact Dictionary that is extremely helpful to me in my Bible studies. I had been searching for one for a long time; others were very cumbersome so I never purchased one before. This one is just right and has provided a lot of satisfaction in aiding me in my studies. I would definitely recommend it to anyone seeking this kind of information.
If you like to read the King James Version of the Bible, you will need a few dictionaries to define many words as they were used in the 17th century for this Bible. This is a nice one to have on hand.
As described, this is simply a dictionary of unfamiliar terms one will encounter in the KJV Bible- no opinions, doctrinal notes or translation comments. If that's what you need, I recommend it. Large print, wide-spacing, make it easy to quickly find your word and get back to reading. If you are looking for Greek and Hebrew words, etc. you want a good Bible dictionary, such as Vine's. I gave this book away to a Christian in the church, but it was helpful when I did have it. No doubt it's not a strings concordance, but for the most part any word you need to look up will normally be in this book.
For me, this rates 5 stars because,
[A] the quality of the book is excellent, good layout and the print and paper are of very high quality, very readable font size, also it is made in the USA.
[B] the content is an exhaustive, 2000+ entry list of KJV bible text words as defined by the 1828 Webster's dictionary, and only the definitions pertinent to the KJV text are shown.
[C] for the price, you really can't go wrong, considering the price of a reproduction of the complete 1828 Webster's dictionary.
Great resource that is compact enough to keep handy in your briefcase. Not as thorough as it could be (as far as the amount of words it contains) but still enough to make it worth keeping with you wherever you take your Bible. I'm minded to purchase the Noah Webster 1828 facsimile dictionary that this dictionary derives its definitions from. Its size would be better for studying at home whereas this one is perfect for keeping with you on the go.
I really enjoy this. I'd suggest getting multiple copies if you can. It's very nice if you get tired of looking at a screen. I like to go out in nature and read on paper and ink. I work on a computer so I see a screen all day long. When I'm reading my Bible I don't want to even pull out my phone to look up a word. The screen gets old. This is very fast. I can find the word I'm looking for almost as fast as looking it up on my phone. Because it's not a very thick book, it only has the words that you're probably going to look up due to being a word not used often these days.
