The Sage in Harlem HL Mencken and the Black Writers of the 1920s Professor Charles Scruggs Books

This was a bit of a struggle to read as the subject, Mencken tie-in notwithstanding, was a little esoteric for me. It was incidentally useful for ideas of other authors I might want to read that haven't yet come my way, however, so I'm not sorry I gave it the time I did. It was all too easy to put down, though, and it took me a long time to get through it.
